The Belton Host Lions club has been in service to the Belton community for more than 65 years. We are proud of our involvement in the vision program for our school children. We also recycle eyeglasses, support the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, Alphapointe, and many other worthwhile community projects and Lions Clubs International projects.
Like all Lions clubs, our club is mainly involved in raising funds to provide eye care for people in our community who cannot afford it. We offer a special “thanks” to the many Belton businesses and residents who support our causes with their kind donations and participation in our fundraisers!
We need your help now more than ever so we are inviting you to visit our “Donate Public Pledge & How You Can Help page” to learn about our pledge to donors that support our Lions cause! You can also help our club financially by participating in our online nut and confection product sales through our partnership with Terri Lynn Nut Company. Our community will benefit greatly from any donation you are able to give. Click here “Donation Public Pledge & How You Can Help”
Our club has sponsored two Lions Clubs, the Kansas City Alphapointe Southside Lions Club, chartered in 2009 and the Lee’s Summit Downtown Lions Club; chartered in December 2010.
Belton Host Lions sponsors a “Bunco Against Blindness” fundraiser at Brewbaker’s Pub & Grille located Cedar Tree Square in Belton every other month. We support the Children’s Mercy Hospital Oncology department with donations of “Happy Kits” for children suffering from cancer. Our club collects and distributes books and participates in the Lions Literacy program, contact Lion Karen Calvert for more information.
“Thanks” to all club members who participate and help us raise the funds necessary along with the many non-Lion community members who support our many projects!
